Benefit of Antioxidant Foods

Fighting cancer using natures help requires the use of antioxidant foods; substances found in many plants, fruits, vegetables and omega 3 oils such as krill oil. Phytonutrients found in fruits and vegetables work together with other nutrients to protect your health. Although only nine hundred if these phytonutrients have been discovered so far it is the scientist opinion that many more will be found and will change tomorrows health care needs; with these discoveries (and more to come), scientists believe the face of healthcare is changing, hopefully forever.

There have been a huge number of health benefits discovered so far from many well known foods; pomegranates for example, contain many different properties whilst blueberries have compounds which affect the aging process.

Unrecognized for many years, the properties contained in the blueberry are only just now being appreciated with many antioxidant compounds contained in a fruit with very low sugar content. The easiest way to inject concentrated amounts of these fruits is by drinking juice every day; regular consumption can help our circulation and increase our ability to combat illness.

Not content with helping to prevent illness, these antioxidants also help fight disease and infection. The old saying about an apple-a-day couldn’t be truer with evidence that they can help prevent the chance of heart conditions occurring.

Now citrus fruits too are showing that they have a use with a number of beneficial phytochemicals contained in them. Tart cherries can also provide anti-inflammatory benefits to people who suffer with conditions that cause pain in and around the joints. Most of us have already heard about the benefits that certain minerals and vitamins like B, c and E provide which have now become widely used in products. Another group of antioxidants called Phytoalexins (resveratrol) found in many berries can prevent infection and have anti-viral properties.

Many people with other aging conditions prevalent around the world, for instance: heart attacks, stroke and Alzheimer’s can all benefit when these compounds are used. The humble tomato has also been under scrutiny with benefits it has guarding against certain cancers and heart problems.

Using tomato puree (which is the concentrated form of tomatoes) as the base for your chili utilizes the antioxidants without the bulk of a whole tomato. Even the humble water melon, so refreshing on a hot summer’s day, has now been found to have some of the most important and powerful phytonutrients available naturally. With all the natural goodness fruit contains and now the health benefits as well, isn’t it time for you to start a healthy living diet consisting of more fruit.

Resveratrol Helps With Anti-Aging

Resveratrol supplements are the latest health craze related to anti-aging. For several years now more and more, studies are proving that resveratrol supplements can slow down the aging process. Aging is what happens to the body as we get older and deteriorate. Metabolic processes and physiological functions slow down. The rate of slowing can be changed with the antioxidants like resveratrol.

Studies on resveratrol continue to uncover the very tangible benefits of this element of red wine, which include anti-cancer, anti-aging properties. In short, resveratrol brings back to life a gene within all living cells that provides that cell with more time to fix itself.

From Oprah to 60 Minuets to Barbara Walter, major television shows are highlighting the studies on resveratrol that point to the anti-aging benefits. All these shows have interviewed the people behind the research. that has proven the effects of resveratrol in living cells. These shows have profiled the companies that are producing the resveratrol supplements. Resveratrol is the next antioxidant that has the potential to make longer, healthier lives more possible.

The research into resveratrol suggests that it is a powerful antioxidant that helps to mitigate the damaging effects of free radicals in the body, and likewise may induce a process by which extended life will be more a possibility. One effect of the antioxidant resveratrol is on arteries. The research suggests that resveratrol reduces blood pressure through increasing blood flow.

Antioxidants mediates the damage that free radicals inflict on cells. Diseases like diabetes, heart disease, Alzheimer’s, cancer and Parkinson’s can be slowed down by the introduction of antioxidants.

Resveratrol is found in several natural items, such as peanuts, red wine, grapes and blueberries other items. But grapes, in particular Muscdine, have the highest concentration of resveratrol. Although, nothing really comes close to the amounts of resveratrol in supplement form. These capsules have been filled with resveratrol. To get comparable amounts of resveratrol one would need to consumer hundreds if not thousands of bottles of red wine per day. Of course, this is not a feasible option.

There are many resveratrol supplements that contain this newly discovered antioxidant, resveratrol, which some are calling “The Fountain of Youth” that also includes other important anti-oxidants. The amount of these nutritional supplements is growing all the time and more people are looking to introduce them into their daily intake. While there are quite a few companies that don’t put enough resveratrol or the resveratrol they do create has a low bioavailability. This means that not much resveratrol actually reaches the body.

There are very few elements such as resveratrol. The growing number of positive studies and increasing amount of fundung for product development means that resveratrol has not yet reached its full potential.
