Prostate Cancer and What It Means to those That Suffer

Prostate Cancer - Radical Prostatectomy

To start with, if you experience certain symptoms like frequent night urination, blood in your urine or semen, pains in your lower back, in your pelvis or in your upper thighs, this could be symptoms of prostate cancer. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates the number of new cases of prostate cancer being diagnosed worldwide in 2000 to be over 540,000.   Explaining the causes of Prostate cancer can be confusing because there is no single cause of this condition.

One way to prevent prostate cancer is to look for food and vitamins that contain lots of antioxidant like Vitamin E; such vitamins will go a long way in helping you to kill the free radicals in your body that can trigger prostate cancer. There are many prostate cancer treatment options and the ratio of cures is very high.  If you are suffering from prostate cancer right now, I want you to make up your mind that you have to spend every minute of everyday thinking of the best ways of fighting the prostate cancer, rather than being depressed all day. There are many treatment options for prostate cancer that is confined to the prostate gland. Each option should be considered carefully, balancing the pros versus the cons as they relate to the individual man’s age, mental and physical health and aims.

Because of the high rate of people suffering from and dying from prostate cancer there are now many national and international prostate cancer charity organizations to help out. The battle against prostate cancer should begin in your mind; fight those negative thoughts that are springing up every minute telling you to give up and just lay dead; replace them with positive thoughts and stories of people who have survived prostate cancer; tell your mind that YOU will be among those who will survive by fighting prostate cancer. There is growing evidence that your diet can help you a great deal in dealing with the prostate cancer disease.

I don’t know about you… as for me, I prefer to loose my testicles than to loose my life to prostate cancer; and the best news is that prostate cancer occurs mostly in older men, so you might already have children then, and it wouldn’t be such a big blow on you when your testicles are removed to save your life.

In closing, there is the need for early detection of prostate cancer if you hope to stay alive from it.
